Waxing Gibbous Moon
On this trip I am going to try to remember to keep track of the lunar phases as I go. I used to do that in all my journals when I was a kid. It’s kind of fun and after a while, there’s a rhythm to it.
There is also a rhythm to the motion of a train. And the churning pedals of a bicycle. And your natural gait. The more you pay attention to it, the more in tune you become.
Most of Utah slipped by in the darkness last night as I was sleeping in train seat pretzel pose. Morning came just in time to see the eastern part of the state and to pass into Colorado via Grand Junction.
At Glenwood Springs things got really good – cruising along the Colorado River beneath snowy strata, a rock slide covered a section of I-70 – man, I love rock slides!
We should reach Denver by sunset and be in Omaha for sunrise. Chuggin’ along, stress-free, easy breezy.
Speaking of reaching, don’t forget to ask your friends and neighbors to pledge a penny per mile to REACH Across America. This is the real deal right here. This is going to be SO fun.
Peace and Love in the Rockies,
