Waning Gibbous Moon
The brain fuzz is slow to dissolve. Glad for a day off inside where it’s dry and cozy.
I left out four more trail angels from yesterday’s post. About halfway between Grafton and Bridgeport, a woman was standing next to her SUV which was parked at the end of a long driveway, facing the highway. An older gent, presumably the hudbun, sat inside.
As I approached the driveway, the woman greeted me warmly, asking if I was walking across America. Then she handed me an ice cold bottle of water. A simple gesture that quenched my thirst and raised my happiness level. Thank you!
About thirty minutes later, another couple in an SUV screeched to a halt on the other side of the highway. Again the woman was driving. She bounded out of the car, hurried across the road, and handed me a twenty dollar bill.
I was speechless. Then she went back to the vehicle and produced another bottle of water (guess I looked pretty thirsty). She said she had seen my picture in the paper…just what paper she couldn’t say…and wished me luck on my trip.
People of the USA. Good as gold. Don’t let anybody tell you something different.
Peace, Love, and More Gratitude,
