Nebraska!

Waxing Crescent Moon

I crossed the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge over the Missouri River from Council Bluffs IA to Omaha NE this morning. Nebraska greeted me with a heat wave. Expecting 90 – 95 degree days through the weekend. Summer!

The Missouri River is America’s longest river, 2,341 miles from Three Forks, Montana to St. Louis, Missouri. The bridge and its surrounding parks and
trails are top shelf recreation icons.

I arrived on the Omaha side a little early so I went to the Lewis and Clark National Parks Service Visitors’ Center.
It’s FREE and full of good trail lore and naturalist info.

About noon, Sweet Carole and some of her grandchildren came to pick up me and Bobalooie. They even made a Welcome to Nebraska sign!

I’m going to slackpack the next two days to get some miles in and play around with my favorite cousin in between.
