Waxing Crescent Moon
I’m in Colorado! Eight states (plus D.C.) down, four to go.
Nebraska, you were full of kind people and I learned a lot from you. I’ll be back.
I may or may not have illegally camped by the football field in Big Springs NE my last night in Nebraska. Let’s just leave it like that.
I had some weird kind of heebie-jeebie attack at bedtime. Chills, upset stomach, aches and pains, and uncontrollable shakes all over. Strange. I tried to ward it off with concentrated deep breathing and water, telling myself this must stop by morning, I don’t have time for this stuff.
When I woke up, I was back to normal. (I use the word loosely.)
Julesburg CO is just a few miles past the state line and home of The Old Ford Garage. Lee Kizer, owner and historian of this enterprise, caught me staring through the double doors and waved me in. What a great place!
This garage used to be a Ford dealership back when Hwy 138 was part of the Lincoln Highway. Now the Lincoln Highway goes through Wyoming where it’s easier to cross the Rockies. Hmmm. Wonder why I’M not doing that?
Lee can tell you just about anything you want to know regarding Model A and Model T Ford cars. You better put this place on your road trip list pronto.
Julesburg was also a Pony Express stop. The Depot Museum was closed when I passed by, but I’m sure it would be fun to visit.
Major t-storm warning in effect. Again.
Peace, Love, and Giddiup,
