Steamboat Springs

Waning Crescent Moon

I discovered the Yampa River Core Trail when I ventured out to find a grocery store yesterday. Steamboat is a good place to be. Lots of fit, friendly people of all ages were on the trail, biking, running, walking, and getting set to tube the river. The trail itself is six miles long next to the Yampa River with views of the ski slopes. I am going to use it to leave town Friday, but here are a few photos of the upstream end near my motel and close to a major shopping center.

The local Rotary Club organized the effort to build a boardwalk park next to the trail.

I ♡ public art, especially with a bicycling theme. It’s fun to run into something like this unexpectedly on a trail. It’s simple, but it makes me smile. I really miss my bike!

Speaking of my bike, aka the Dream Machine, you can help to defray some of my expenses by purchasing copies of my bicycle touring memoir on Amazon. Books make great gifts! Just click on this link:
