The Cowan Cafe in Duchesne UT is another five star American institution not to be missed. In operation since 1933, Cowan’s is a classical small town diner where you get your money’s worth of tasty fresh food served with honest polite good manners.
This is Tammy. Ain’t she cute?
It seemed like I climbed a lot today and even though it was relatively cool overall, the Sun and the pavement took their usual toll. I crossed the Strawberry River and a piece of the Starvation Reservoir. I liked the scenery better today.
Mileage-wise, I have surpassed the equivalent total for a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail in five months, eighteen days. That’s pretty average for hikers who complete the AT, I think. For a coast to coast hike, well, I still have a couple of months + to go. I’m averaging 19 miles per day hiked. I have taken tons of zero days and have chosen my own route and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
