Usain In the Membrane

Waxing Gibbous Moon

Usain Bolt. What a perfect name. What an amazing athlete. What an illustrious spirit. Without saying a word, he speaks volumes in 9.8 seconds. On a slow day.

All the other sprinters struggle. They run like they are attached to something – elastic bands pulling them backwards.

Usain is free. Untethered. Pure.

They say the great ones make it look easy. Jabaar. Ali. Jordan. Kiraly. Bird. Magic. Kerri. Phelps. The new gymnast Simone Biles.

And Bolt. Born to do it. Toiled to perfect it. Reveled in the winning. The shining. Stars.

Sometimes I just really love sports. This is one of those times.

Peace, Love, and Perfection,

Palomino

  1. Hiya Jim,

Mark McGrath here. (I wrote the Transcendental Roving blog for a bit earlier this year.) Good luck and have fun on the desert leg of your journey! I’ve driven the Loneliest Road. It’s amazing! I check in to this site nearly every day and love following your adventure. (I kick myself every day for not getting farther in my own walk.)

Take it easy and keep on keepin’ on.

  2. Hi Jim,
Glad to see you’re still trucking. I check in to your site every day and love reading about your adventure. I started a walk of my own earlier this year, but it was short-lived. Good luck on the desert leg of your journey. I’ve driven the Loneliest Road – it’s awe-inspiring!
