Palomino Has Landed

Waxing Crescent Moon

I finished my coast to coast walk across the United States today.

Reheboth Beach, Cape Henlopen DE, February 21, 2016 to Limantour Beach, Point Reyes National Seashore CA, October 1, 2016.

I feel grateful and happy and a little stunned.

Peace and Love on the Beach,

Palomino

  1. What an amazing, AWE-mazing feat you have accomplished. It’s clear you’re thrilled to be back on the west coast, having trekked across the country from the east coast — as well you should be. You have certainly raised my husband’s and my awareness along with that of countless others. Bravo!!

    1. I’m walking home to San Juan Bautista via the northern California Missions. Sometime down the line I will continue that walk to San Diego, but I gotta rest my feet for a little while πŸ™‚

  3. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have so enjoyed your journey. I have prayed for your safety and worried for you too. I had the honor of meeting you early on in your journey at North Bend State Park in West Virginia. I was at the park with 2 of our grandchildren and had a chance to visit with you. I admire you for doing this and don’t know that I am brave enough to do this solo as much as I would love to be able to say I did it. So glad you are home and I hope I am able to find your posts on your next adventure. We can all live thru you. God Bless you.

    1. I remember meeting you on that steep steep hill, Denise πŸ™‚ You don’t have to walk all the way across the doggone country to have an adventure. The North Bend Rail Trail with all those spooky tunnels is pretty adventuresome all by itself!

  4. We understand being happy and a little stunned. We felt that way after only a 280+ mile trip. This trip was so much of your life for so long, having it come to an end is a celebration and a loss at the same time. What a wonderful adventure, glad we go to share a little part of it.

  6. I began following your journey after your stop in Hebron Indiana where a thoughtful someone gave you a lift to our beloved Indiana Dunes. Congratulations on your accomplishment and safe arrival home! And of course, a big THANKS for letting me tag along!

    1. That was Mitch Barloga, northwest Indiana’s trail guru and master host. Getting an unplanned tour of the dunes area was a highlight of what was already a terrific walk on Indiana’s great trail system. Thank YOU for the kind words πŸ™‚

  7. Yaaaayyyyy! Jim you are the benchmark for courage, adventure and, well, stick-to-it-ness. You know stuff nobody else can. You did this magnificent thing that may feel like a dream but it’s real and you own it. On behalf of REACH and as a San Benito County resident I thank you for all your efforts and I wish you a well-deserved rest before your next adventure!
